Due to health and safety reasons our Wheldrake branch remains closed at this time.  Prescriptions can be collected on a Friday between 2-4pm from the cottage in the grounds of Wheldrake church.

Job description

Job Title: Patient Services Team Member

Main Purpose of Job:
1. Primary interface to all patients; handling telephone calls, arranging appointments and communicating with patients
2. Responsible for maintenance and upkeep of computerised patient record
3. Meeting and greeting all visitors attending the practice
4. Ensuring smooth running of appointment system

Key Responsibilities

Ensuring all letters are Read coded as determined by the clinical staff

Undertaking data validation of QoF registers

Implementing software upgrades as determined by software companies

Note summarising from handwritten/paper notes, as is necessary

Ensuring that the reception area is a calm and professional front of house

Signposting patients to the best practitioner within appropriate timescales

Handling all manner of patient queries

As part of the Patient Services Team may include:

  • Allocating document workflow on a rosta basis
  • Registration of patients
  • Administration of referrals (private and NHS)
  • Maintaining practice document templates
  • Provide secretarial support to partners and staff
  • Signposting patients to the best practitioner within appropriate timescales
  • Handling all manner of patient queries
