Drug availability and shortages

We endeavour to process and have ready every prescription within 48 working hours of receipt. Our ARX robot, the only one in the North of England, allows us to pick and pack medication quickly and efficiently, and also automatically monitors and orders our stock to ensure we operate at an optimal level for demand.

We do not however carry every item in stock, as some have short shelf lives or are less commonly required. On these occasions we need to order them in from our suppliers. We receive several deliveries a day to ensure priority items are available for you but sometimes this can incur a short delay.

Under exceptional circumstances national shortages of certain drugs can occur. Unfortunately these situations are completely out of our control as the Department of Health rations drugs in short supply.
