Community Support Groups
Healthy Living Support Group
- Lose weight, Improve your diet, Exercise more
With monthly speakers on a variety of topics, we hope that this group will raise awareness of how you can improve your health at your own pace and in your own way. We hope that anyone who has struggled with the confidence, knowledge or cost to seek out similar programmes will value a free of charge local group like this.
Anyone who comes along will meet like-minded people with whom to share ideas, experiences and goals. Please keep an eye on our website and Facebook page for further details.
We have already had fantastic talks on motivation, diet and exercise and look forward to the next few speakers. On February 2nd we will be learning about increasing physical activity, without necessarily having to join a gym, travel or spend money.
The group is free to attend for our patients although we do have limited space, please register your interest via our comments form.
Carers' Support Group
The Practice, in conjunction with the Patient Representation Group, is exploring setting up an informal group for anyone who looks after someone within our community. This would offer a regular time and place for anyone who wants to drop in, to meet and speak with other local carers. If you look after someone and would like a group to meet with others locally, please let us know when and where would be the most convenient you. You can do so via the comments form. Your details will be treated with the strictest confidence.
Please note Elvington Medical Practice will be closed from 12:00 on Thursday 11th April for staff training. We will be opens as normal on Friday 12th April. Vocare will be covering urgent queries between 12-6pm and are contactable on 0300 123 0762.
The surgery will be closed due to staff training on the
31st of January
On Monday 9 July 2018 we are launching our improved appointment system to ensure that all patients have access to the right health care professional at the right time, first time.
All GP practices are required to declare the mean earnings (e.g. average pay) for GPs working to deliver NHS services to patients at each practice, the required disclosure is shown here.
