Patient Representation Group
Would you like to help shape the future of the Practice?
Do you have an interest in the health of your community?
Have you any ideas for how we could improve?
The Elvington Medical Practice Patient Representation Group meets quarterly to discuss the members’ experiences, with a view to acting as a ‘critical friend’ of the Practice. The Practice prides itself on knowing our patients and being at the heart of the community. Only through really involving our patients will we be able to continue to deliver the care that our community needs.
The group first met in March 2014, and has already been involved in the redevelopment of the Practice website, setting up support groups for our local community, and letting us know about other areas in which we can improve.
We still need to recruit members, particularly male members, and in the 16-24 and 25-34 age groups.
If you would like to be involved, please let us know! The group meets quarterly on Monday evenings at the Practice.

The results of our patient survey for 2014/15 and our annual report to NHS England can be found here.
On Monday 9 July 2018 we are launching our improved appointment system to ensure that all patients have access to the right health care professional at the right time, first time.
All GP practices are required to declare the mean earnings (e.g. average pay) for GPs working to deliver NHS services to patients at each practice, the required disclosure is shown here.
Dr David Lightwing, who has worked in the practice for 19 years, has now retired and we wish him well in the future. We are also pleased to announce that Dr Tim Longmore has now taken on the role of Senior Partner for the practice.
In addition to overseeing prescription management systems, Andy will be providing appointments for medication reviews and will also be available to answer any medicines related queries by telephone.
