Patient Partner Phone System (24hr pre-booking of appointments)
What is Patient Partner?
Patient Partner connects to our existing telephone system and clinical database and allows patients to book, cancel and check appointments using their telephone keypad. This system can be used for GP appointments but will also be really useful for booking blood tests as you will easily be able to book the next available appointment without having to wait for a receptionist to answer your call.
The system is available 24 hours a day 7 days a week and is designed to improve patient access, reduce missed appointments so that other patients can use these and relieve some of the pressure on our phone system at busy times such as 8 o’clock every morning.
How does it work?
When you call the surgery number you will have the option of using our 24 hour booking system. If you choose to use this, Patient Partner, you will be asked to enter your date of birth and telephone number using the telephone keypad.
When your information has been checked and accepted by the system you will be offered options to book, cancel or check outstanding appointments. If you choose to book a new appointment the system will find a suitable appointment and offer it to you. You will then simply need to press a button on your telephone keypad to confirm that this appointment is convenient for you and the system will confirm that the appointment has been booked for you.
Please note that in order for you to use the automated telephone system, we must have your up to date contact details at the practice, as your phone number will be used to identify you on our clinical system, and the system will not enable you to book an appointment if there are any differences in the information we hold and the details you enter.
On Monday 9 July 2018 we are launching our improved appointment system to ensure that all patients have access to the right health care professional at the right time, first time.
All GP practices are required to declare the mean earnings (e.g. average pay) for GPs working to deliver NHS services to patients at each practice, the required disclosure is shown here.
Dr David Lightwing, who has worked in the practice for 19 years, has now retired and we wish him well in the future. We are also pleased to announce that Dr Tim Longmore has now taken on the role of Senior Partner for the practice.
In addition to overseeing prescription management systems, Andy will be providing appointments for medication reviews and will also be available to answer any medicines related queries by telephone.
