Sick note/Fit note requests
We often get requests for urgent appointments just for a fit note. Often requests for sick notes can be dealt with over the phone.
Please remember that you do not legally need a sick note unless you have been off for more than seven days (including the days you normally do not work). The fit note allows us to give you more information on how your condition affects your ability to work. This will help your employer to understand how they might help you return to work sooner or stay in work. This on its own is clearly not an urgent medical problem. If you use up an urgent appointment for a note it cannot be offered to someone else who is unwell.
On Monday 9 July 2018 we are launching our improved appointment system to ensure that all patients have access to the right health care professional at the right time, first time.
All GP practices are required to declare the mean earnings (e.g. average pay) for GPs working to deliver NHS services to patients at each practice, the required disclosure is shown here.
Dr David Lightwing, who has worked in the practice for 19 years, has now retired and we wish him well in the future. We are also pleased to announce that Dr Tim Longmore has now taken on the role of Senior Partner for the practice.
In addition to overseeing prescription management systems, Andy will be providing appointments for medication reviews and will also be available to answer any medicines related queries by telephone.
