There are many different types of skin rashes and many different causes of a skin rash. Most skin rashes are harmless but some may need treatment from your doctor. Some rashes (especially dark red or purple rashes that don't fade with pressure) may need urgent medical treatment.
It is important to identify the rash quickly therefore. The links below have information on many of the main types and causes of rash, and the appropriate treatments.
