About Us

Elvington Medical Practice serves over 7,200 patients, within Elvington and neighbouring villages to the south east of York. The Practice prides itself on being a central and active part of the community and providing patients with a personal and professional service. There has been a medical presence in the village for nearly 200 years.

We provide a range of primary health services to our community, and provide a base from which nurses, midwives, physiotherapists and health visitors operate. Further information on these services can be found within our website, including links to useful trusted external resources.

Our most recent patient survey rated us well above the national average across most areas assessed. This demonstrates the effort that we put in to delivering the highest quality of care and best patient experience possible. We constantly review patient feedback to inform our development.

We are a member of the Vale of York Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG). The CCG is responsible for the monitoring of healthcare in the Vale of York and the planning and design of many of the health services. Much of the funding we receive, and direction over what services we can provide and how, comes from the CCG.

We are proud to be a Hull York Medical School teaching practice, offering medical students and trainee GPs the opportunity to learn from the experience our doctors have. We appreciate the fact that many of our patients volunteer to help with the teaching experience in the practice.

We are committed to the NHS Constitution, which sets out rights to which patients, public and staff are entitled, and pledges which the NHS is committed to achieve, together with responsibilities which the public, patients and staff owe to one another to ensure that the NHS operates fairly and effectively.
